job purpose, duties, and expectations:

  • Lead a small group, high-intensity Pilates class that follows a standardized class format and guidelines in accordance with FierceMovement® methodology.
  • Uphold professionalism and Fierce45’s standards and Core Values of Community, Positivity, and Challenge both in and out of the studio.
  • Follow FierceMovement® standards and best practices and commit to staying informed and knowledgeable on all FierceMovement® updates.
  • Create fresh and energetic playlists to motivate clients and develop class routines that follow the FierceMovement® method.
  • Ensure proficient use of musicality in classes and count on the beat of the music.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with Fierce45’s scheduling and POS system, MarianaTek, as well as all other Fierce45 processes, procedures, and policies.
  • Check in clients prior to the start of class and ensure check-in procedures are followed.
  • Ensure studios are presentable and safe for our clients by resetting the studio after each class.
  • Perform studio opening and closing procedures as required based on the start and end times of scheduled class.
  • Ensure that all Fierce45 policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Establish and maintain Community with Fierce45 clients by interacting, engaging, and creating a welcoming and safe environment.
  • Oversee retail merchandising and display tidiness.
  • Provide teammates and management with feedback and growth opportunities on an ongoing basis.
  • Attend mandatory Fierce45 company trainings and meetings that may be outside of scheduled class times.
  • Take Fierce45 classes on a regular basis to grow as a coach and support your teammates and the Fierce Community.
  • Report to Studio Manager and work hand-in-hand to ensure all clients are supported.

required skills and abilities:

  • Ability to coach a minimum of 7 classes per pay period between all Fierce45 studios.
  • Availability to coach early mornings or evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to assist with Coach sub requests as needed, or as required by Studio Managers.
  • Ability to coach at a minimum of two Fierce45 studio locations (where applicable).
  • Prior group fitness experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to demonstrate the FierceMovement® methodology and lead a 45-minute high-intensity class.
  • Current CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start date).

compensation & benefits:

  • This is a part-time, non-exempt, hourly position.
  • Pay range: $32 – $40 per hour, commensurate with experience and skill level. The bottom of the range will be at or above the applicable New York Downstate minimum wage in effect at hire ($17.00/hour for 2026).
  • Pay frequency: Weekly, in compliance with NY Labor Law § 191 manual-worker requirements.
  • Privates are paid as separate events at the following rates: Single $60, Duet $90, Trio $100, Full Buy-out $120.
  • Free unlimited Fierce45 membership (subject to coaching a minimum of 7 classes per pay period).

  • Paid sick and safe leave under the New York State Paid Sick Leave Law (1 hour for every 30 hours worked, up to 40 hours per calendar year).

  • Eligibility for New York State Paid Family Leave (PFL) after meeting statutory eligibility thresholds.
