  • 🚰MILE HIGH HYDRATION: WHY IT’S SO IMPORTANT🚰

Our love for the Mile High City runs deep, and it has a lot to do with the 300 days of sunshine we see each year. While you’re out having fun in the sun, it’s easy to forget to stay hydrated, but Colorado summers are no joke. Between the scorching temperatures and high altitude, it’s not only essential to consume enough fluids for your overall health, but also to maximize the benefits of Fierce Movement® – and your other fave summer activities.

If you’re still not convinced, here are four more reasons to imbibe in some extra H20 this summer:

    ENERGY

Water helps deliver crucial nutrients throughout your body to boost energy levels. Staying hydrated can give you more energy and also help alleviate headaches, drowsiness, body aches, and elevate your mood. If plain old water doesn’t do it for you, toss in a squeeze of lemon or a flavored water additive that can give you some electrolytes for an added energy boost.

    WEIGHT LOSS

Getting enough water throughout the day can aid in getting rid of the last of your winter weight. Drinking water can help you feel full longer without adding any extra calories. It’s also not uncommon for some people to mistake thirst for hunger. If you’re still feeling hungry and you just ate, try drinking a glass of water, or eating some foods with high water content—like watermelon, cucumbers, celery or peaches.

    DETOX

Summer in Colorado isn’t quite summer without enjoying a warm patio night with good food and good drinks. Hydrating, especially after a night out, can help flush toxins out of your body faster, making hitting up your local happy hour a little more forgiving on your body.

    GLOW

Your self-care Sunday may not be complete without all of your skincare creams and elixirs, but one of the best ways to get that summer glow? Yup, you guessed it, HYDRATE! When your body is hydrated, your skin is hydrated, and that is the best defense against aging. So, drink up, Fierce fam.

The recommended amount of water to stay hydrated is eight glasses per day, but that can vary based on activity and how much time you spend in the heat outside (not to mention the Colorado altitude). So, make the most of our beautiful state this summer and hit your hydration goals! I mean, who doesn’t want a health boost, an increase in your energy, and a healthy glow all thanks to a bit of H2O?

  • 💦WATER – IT’S ALL THE RAGE💦

Do you find yourself hungry minutes after you just ate? Are you left feeling bloated? Is your skin looking dull? Do you feel sluggish and unenergized? It may come as a surprise, but the cure could be as simple as drinking more WATER

In general, when asked how much water people consume daily it is severely lower than what is “required” to keep your body hydrated. The suggested amount of water you should drink depends on your height, weight, and activity level, but the recommended amount is at least eight, eight ounce glasses a day.

It’s no secret that water is crucial for maintaining a healthy and well nourished body, but water can also curb those mid day cravings. You might be wondering, “How the heck is water going to satisfy my astronomically large snack habit?” I’ve been there, and trust me, it works.

Our bodies are approximately 60% water and when deprived of H2O, our body naturally searches for nutrients elsewhere…food. Drinking a sufficient amount of water signals your brain to feel full and satiated by hydrating your body and boosting your internal energy.

Water is not only beneficial in keeping you full and hydrated, it can also cure aliments such as headaches, drowsiness, mood, and body aches. When you are dehydrated your blood volume drops. Once this happens, the flow of blood and oxygen to your brain lowers and causes your brain to swell, ultimately resulting in raging headaches.

Dehydration not only causes physical pains, but also rapidly ages your skin. In order for your skin to stay hydrated and moisturized you have to start from the inside…what does that mean? You guessed it, water!

Water can sometimes feel boring and mundane, but do not fear, there are many healthy ways to spruce up your lackluster of water.

    1. Add fruit. I love cucumber, lemon, and jalapeño for an extra kick! Berries are always a great option, too.

    2. Mio fit. Or any flavored water additive that provides an added energy boost.

    3. Emergen-c. Get your vitamins and stay healthy with cold and flu season!

    4. Mint leaves. Need I say more?

A quick tip? Always make sure that you are carrying a water bottle…at all times. This will help increase your water intake and help decrease hunger cravings.

Many people experience daily issues such as drowsiness, lethargy, and inattentiveness. All of these symptoms can often be fixed by increasing water intake. Try drinking two large glasses of water first thing in the morning, and keep that water bottle on hand throughout the day to ensure you meet your hydration goals!
